Coalesse, 415 Table Collection
Strategy, Design, & Development
I designed and led development of this highly customizable table collection. With casual legs and sophisticated material options, this table system can blend across conference, standing, and ancillary office applications.
The changing office landscape
The past 10 years have seen a radical change in how and where people choose to work. Mobile technologies have provided the freedom to work from home, the office, or anywhere in-between. As these shifts occur, so do the qualities of these environments and experiences.
Early Concepts
Working with an extensive amount of primary and secondary research insights, the design challenge was to focus on a table system that could easily adapt to ancillary spaces, while still addressing all the requirements in the conference room, and within the broader office landscape.
Waterfall
The open plan environment allows the entire floor plate to be the designer’s single canvas. Adjacencies allow for material, color, and visual connections not possible before. The waterfall concept provides a platform to host industry standard material thicknesses (i.e. countertops), allowing materials to coordinate between various settings while providing clean, un-interrupted work surfaces.
415 Table
The 415 Table concept emerged from the combination of several core principles; a casual leg/stance, flexibility to support a wide range of size and style options, and seamless technology integration.
